Rovshan Mamedkuliev


Rovshan Mamedkuliev was born on May 12, 1986 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He started his studies in classical guitar at the age of 11 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. In 2004 he entered the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatoire and graduated with honors in 2009.

At present Rovshan Mamedkuliev is a post-graduate student at the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatoire where he also teaches. In 2011 he recorded the CD “Con Anima” a solo program.

Rovshan Mamedkuliev has received honors at international festivals and competitions in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and others.  Most notably, Rovshan recently won first prize at the 2011International Guitar Competition “Heitor Villa-Lobos” Salamanca, Spain.  In 2010 he was awarded first prize solo recital at the 11th International Guitar Competition and Festival Paris, France. In 2009 he received third prize at the International Guitar Competition Moscow, Russia, second prize at the International Guitar Competition and Festival Sernancelhe, Portugal, and first prize at the 10th International Guitar Competition named after A.K.Frauchi Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
